Exploring The Waters Of Hinchinbrook Island

Several mates and I hired a houseboat in 2009 for a week to explore and enjoy this little piece of Australian paradise known as Hinchinbrook Island. Hinchinbrook Island National Park, and the several small surrounding islands, are one of tropical North Queensland’s most picturesque spots. Located between Townsville and Cairns, the area is home to beautiful sandy beaches, dense island forests, mangroves, mountains and crystal clear waters. We explored the Northern end of Hinchinbrook and the several islands to the north.

Part 2 highlights some of the great fishing we experienced during the week. Using bait, lures, trolling and popping techniques a decent haul was caught for a fresh feed of fish.
